Reflections on the Rising Sun

by Ed Robinson

Red, orange, yellow, and white
Change as time passes.
Gaia calls for morning,
And the Sun answers.
Dawning of Day goes by
Unnoticed by the sleeping.

Wearing on across the sky,
Slowly the Sun dances.
Day wears on through night;
Time is but a concept
Brought on by the sure nature
Of the setting and rising Sun.

Time works, also, despite man.
His kind tries to fight,
But Abstract is stronger
And a merciless warrior.
Mankind buckles under the weight,
And Time marches forever on.
